Jean Francis Janeczko Brusso, 65, of Benton died Friday, June 12, 2009 in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Wonewoc Township, Wis., on April 6, 1944, the daughter of Roy and Manola (Shore) Sloniker.

She married Joseph Janeczko on Jan. 29, 1966 and he preceded her in death. She then married Douglas Brusso on Oct. 19, 1991 and he also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Brusso attended the Heights Church of God in West Frankfort.

Mrs. Brusso had worked for the Northwest Herald, and was a carrier for the Southern Illinoisan.

She is survived by her daughter, Sally Ann Arendarczyk and Wayne Grayson of Johnston City, grandson, Joseph Thomas (TJ) Arendarczyk of Johnston City; four sisters, Elizabeth Boyd of Macomb Lake, Dorothy Pope of Orange, Calif., Muriel Gilmore of Wonewoc, Wis., and Laurene Wuster and husband Donald of Hillsboro, Wis.; and special friend Jerry McPherson of Benton.

Mrs. Brusso was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; an infant sister, Ruth Sloniker; an infant brother; a brother, William Sloniker; and a grandson, Roy Edward Arendarczyk.
