Cy R. Webb, 85, of Ewing died at 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at his home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Marty Ellsworth officiating.  Burial will be in the Middle Fork Cemetery, Ewing.

Mr. Webb was born on Jan. 8, 1925, in Ewing, the son of Cyrus M. Webb and Stella (Dollins) Webb. He married Betty Cox, and she preceded him in death.  He married the former Marlene Browning on July 18, 1972, and she survives.

Cy was a retired farmer, former president of the Franklin County Farm Bureau and former State Vice President of the Future Farmers of America.  He was a U.S. Merchant Marines veteran, a member of the Emmaus Road Missionary Baptist Church, Ewing, and a former deacon and Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church, Benton.

Cy enjoyed several sports including, golf, sailing, water and snow skiing and walked almost everyday for exercise. He and Marlene loved to travel in the United States and abroad. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Marlene Webb, Ewing; four children, Dr. Karen Webb, Teaneck, N.J., Judy Shank, Tarpon Springs, Fla., Don Webb, Belle Rive, and Kristian Webb, Elgin; two stepchildren, Cindy Odom, Benton, and Doug Browning, Macedonia; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Faxon, Palo Alto, Calif., and Jean Beaty, Hingham, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Webb was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Betty (Cox) Webb; two brothers, Ed and Don Webb; one sister, Alice Beatty; a grandson, Jason Webb; and a step-great-grandson, Deegan Odom.
