Mildred N. Simpson, 95, of Springfield, formerly of Marion, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020 at 7:05 p.m. at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
Mildred was born Nov. , 1924, in Marion, the daughter of Chester and Grace (Barker) Motsinger.
She married Kenneth Summers on Sept. 27, 1942, in Perryville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1975.
She later married Paul Simpson on Nov. 5, 1984 who preceded her in death in April, 1997.
She was a member of Third Baptist Church of Marion, a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mildred retired after 27 years from the Bank of Marion.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Dean) Spindler, of Springfield, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and nine nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded by her parents, two husbands, two daughters, Kendra Summers and Cathy Hamer, and two brothers, Gymple and Marvin Motsinger.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at 2 p.m., at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Brother Ron Cremeens officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
