Margaret Marie Hennrich, 95, of Chester, passed away at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019 at her residence.

She was born to the late Andrew and Anna (nee Junger) Petrowske on Jan. 10, 1924 in Mount Summit, Illinois.

Margaret married Louis Hennrich on March 26, 1945 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester; they shared 34 years of blissful marriage before he preceded her in death on April 1, 1979.

Margaret was retired from Chester Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and belonged to the Blessed Virgin Sodality. She volunteered her time helping others, delivering Memorial Hospital Meals on Wheels and working in the gift shop. She volunteered at the Randolph County Courthouse and helped when needed at the Knights of Columbus. She also quilted at the Senior Center and the Knights of Columbus for charity purposes.

One of her greatest enjoyments was playing cards with friends. She loved sports and loyally attended her grandchildren's games and was also a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Margaret was most certainly a people person. When she happened upon a friend she never failed to rush forward and hug them, regardless of the time or place. Hugs to her were akin to a heartbeat, a requirement of life.

She spent her life showing her large, extended family, by way of her affection and compassion, the proper way to live; and when the days crept upon her, she revealed to them the way to enter into heaven. She was always full of love and laughter. She was remarkable and Margaret's friends and family will miss her dearly.

Margaret is survived by three sons, Ronald Hennrich of Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Robert (Joyce) Hennrich of Chester and Paul (Karlis) Hennrich of Jackson, Missouri; two daughters, Margaret Ann (Darrel) Eggemeyer and Jacinta (Denny) Mulholland, both of Chester; 10 grandchildren, Katie Hennrich, Andy Hennrich, Darrel Hennrich, Scott (Danielle) Hennrich, Niki (Matt) Feret, Josh (Shena) Hennrich, Jessica (Matt) Schuwerk, Aaron (Amy) Eggemeyer, Shawn (Yvonne) Seymour and Matt (Jackie) Seymour; 19 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, Alex, Kaleb and Madison Hennrich, Isabella, Lilly and Paul Feret, Cooper, Emma and Zane Eggemeyer, Will and Luke Schuwerk, Alyssa, Penelope, Piper and Prudence Seymour, Annalise Hennrich and Alexia King.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, James and Raymond Petrowske; and one daughter-in-law, Christine Hennrich.

The funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Chester, with the Very Reverend Eugene H. Wojcik, V.F., officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chester.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m. on Dec. 21 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chester.

Memorials in Margaret's name are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic School.
