Larry Tanner of Carrier Mills

Larry L. Tanner, 77, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, died at 3:11 a.m. on Friday Nov. 22, 2019 at St Louis University Hospital, the result of injuries received in a automobile accident.

Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. There will be no visitation, all friends should go directly to the cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Jackson will officiate.

Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Larry was born on Oct. 22, 1942 in Carrier Mills, to the late Vern and Gladys (Blackman) Tanner.

Larry was a retired mechanic and truck driver. He loved to walk, fish and watch old black and white movies.

He is survived by two sons, Dan Tanner of Carrier Mills and Tracy Tanner of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Daniele (Bryan) Smothers of Vienna; three great-grandchildren, Gabe, Hayden and Shelbi Smothers, all of Vienna; brother Gene Tanner of Carrier Mills and sister, Connie Tite of Ozark, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gracie Cain; and a brother, Wayne Tanner.
