Vernon G. Gobin, 66, of Raleigh, passed away on July 22, 2019 surrounded by his family at the Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford, Indiana.

Vernon was born in Eldorado on March 23, 1953, to the late Oscar Vernon "Buck" and Iola Bonita Gobin.

Vernon was a carpenter working out of the Marion union local #638 for 29 years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #167 in Harrisburg.

On Oct. 17, 2007, he married Tammy Sue and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2017.

He is survived by his children, Chris (Tess) Gobin of Medora, Indiana, Misty (Jeff) Morris of Bedford, Indiana and Mandy Mills of Bedford.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Brandon Gobin, Kirsten Gobin, Hunter Morris and Addison Morris; a brother, Ron (Juanetta) Gobin of Murphysboro; a sister, Cheryl Winters of Marion; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Vernon will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, with the Rev. Tim Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Raleigh Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
