DU QUOIN -- Alice K. Martin, 95, of Du Quoin, passed away at 6:11 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Manor at Mason Woods in Pinckneyville.
Alice had been a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin.
She was born July 21, 1923 in Murphysboro, the daughter of Thurman and Edith (Underwood) Doolin.
She married Glenn R. Martin on Nov. 14, 1940 in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2013.
Alice is survived by one son, Paul A. (Juleann) Martin of Mt. Vernon; son-in-law Gayland Chancey of Du Quoin; one brother, Gerald (Virginia) Doolin of Du Quoin; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Nicki Lee Chancey; one brother; and five sisters.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 23 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with the Rev. Jim Endsley officiating.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorials to the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
