Richard Alan Hess, 57, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Richard was a janitorial worker at Five Star Industries. He had also worked at Farm Fresh in Du Quoin. Richard was of the Christian faith. He was a member of the Du Quoin Jaycees.
He was born Feb. 19, 1962 in Chicago, the son of Thomas and Dorothy (Brown) Hess.
He is survived by his siblings, Linda (Chester) Eisenhauer of Du Quoin, Judy (Jack) Ridgeway of Du Quoin, Sandra (Gary) Timpner of Pinckneyville, David (Ellen) Hess of Round Rock, Texas, Debra Casey of Bristol, Virginia and Brenda Varner of Du Quoin.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Margaret Eisenhauer; and one brother, Kenneth Hess.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with the family conducting the service. Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
Friends are invited to make memorials to the Du Quoin Jaycees or to the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
