Norma Gene Patton, 84, of Shawneetown, passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.
She was born in Harrisburg on Sept. 17, 1934, the daughter of the late Bill and Lura (Williams) Deitz. Norma Gene married George Warren Patton on Dec. 30, 1955.
She was a member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church and worked as a cook at the Gallatin County School for several years.
Norma Gene is survived by her loving husband, George Patton of Shawneetown; and daughter Lori (John) West of Newburgh, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Theresa Eileen "Terry" Burke; one sister, Louise Scherrer; and one brother, Bill "Jr." Deitz.
Visitation for Norma Gene will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at noon on Wednesday, May 1 at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Father Steven Beatty will conduct the service with burial at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
