Charles Keene, age 81 and a resident of Carrier Mills, passed away peacefully at his home at 12:54 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
He was born on June 3, 1937 in Harrisburg, the son of the late William H. Keene and Elsie M. (Winn) Keene.
Charles married the former Eugenia Davis and she preceded him in death.
He retired from American Steel in Granite City and was a member and deacon of the First Opportunity Freewill Baptist Church in Carrier Mills.
Survivors include his brothers, Jack (Mildred) Keene and Wendell Keene, both of Carrier Mills; along with nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and two sisters.
Graveside services will precede burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg, with the Rev. Derek Eurales officiating.
There will be no visitation and those planning to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to the service time.
