Vicky Lee Bell, 77, of Marion, passed away 3:58 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, surrounded by her loving husband and family.

Vicky was a self-employed tax preparer and bookkeeper for many years. Her hobbies were quilting and knitting but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Hope Chapel United Methodist Church in Colp and a former member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Marion.

Vicky was born Aug. 30, 1941 in Marion to James L. and Lillian M. (Farner) Eveland. She was united in marriage with Roger N. Bell on June 5, 1959 in Marion. He survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Becky and Jerry Schuttek of Elkville, Cheryl Couch and Vannon Morris of Marion, Beth and John Forehand of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and Tara Bell and Bob Janowick of Johnston City; six grandchildren, Roger Schuttek and Tina Benz, Ashleigh and Daniel Swatzell, Capt. John Alexander and Lindsay Forehand, Olivia Forehand and Matthew McPeak, Veronica Palmer and Bailey Palmer; three great-grandchildren, Autumn Schuttek, John Isaiah Forehand and Sybil Helen Forehand; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandy and Jerry Childers of Marion and Jill Hughes of Marion; and her beloved canine companion, Missy.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Wallace Hughes.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastors Alan Milligan and James Heaney officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110.
