Freddie Dean "Tucky" Smith, 73, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at his residence.
Freddie had been a taxicab driver. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and hunter. He was a camp cook.
Freddie was born Sept. 24, 1944 in Du Quoin, the son of Edna Elizabeth (Smith) Fischer.
He is survived by one son, Frankie (Jeannie) Smith of Murphysboro; three siblings, Harry "Peni" Fischer of Mountain View, California, Dale (JoAnn) Smith of Dowell, and Shirley (Don) Burhmester of Du Quoin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Du Quoin Eagles, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
