Barbara Brown, age 78, of Simpson, Illinois passed away July 11, 2018 at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Barbara was born Jan. 15, 1940 to Hugh and Hazel (Derring) Travelstead in Harrisburg, Illinois.
She worked at the Golconda Job Corp., was an avid dog lover and liked the outdoors.
Barbara is survived her son, Michael (Anice) Beltz of Harrisburg; stepson, Richard Brown; stepdaughter Brenda Brown; six grandchildren, Kevin Beltz, Brandon Brown, Kaci Beltz, Jamie Solomon, Chelsea Swinford and Amelia Brown; six great-grandchildren; and her wiener dog, Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Brown; and daughter, Lynn Swinford.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Glendale Cemetery.
