Michael Roe Harris of Harrisburg

HARRISBURG -- Michael Roe Harris, 66, passed away at 2 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in Harrisburg Medical Center.

Michael was born May 20, 1951, in Texas to Raymond John and Blanche (Roe) Harris.

He was a retired coal miner, who worked 20 years as a miner operator.

Michael was a member of Progressive Mine Workers of America and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and talking guns.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher Harris of Cincinnati, Ohio, and James Harris of Corinth; brother, Lloyd Harris and wife Marcia of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Geneen Furlow; and two half brothers.

It was his wish to be cremated. Private family services will be conducted at a later date.

Memorial donations are suggested to ALS and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home, 1704 N. Court St., Marion, IL 62959.
