HERRIN -- James A. Gregg, 92, of Herrin, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
James formerly worked as a factory worker for Terre Haute Malable and the Campbell Soup Company. Afterward he worked at a farmer.
James was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Herrin, to William and Mary (Dillow) Gregg.
He is survived by his daughter, Elaine Tolbert of Herrin; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kevin and Joy Gregg of Cambria, James A. and Freeda Gregg of Centralia and Joseph Gregg of Centralia; several grandchildren and great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Gregg; former wife, Opal Gregg; parents; two sons, Dennis Gregg and James E. Gregg; son-in-law, Joe Tolbert; grandson, Michael Gregg and nine siblings.
Services will be at noon Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with the Rev. Don Colson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cundiff Cemetery in Carterville.
