Donald Dean Pyle of Stonefort

STONEFORT -- Donald Dean Pyle, 83, died at 3:16 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Stonefort General Baptist Church in Stonefort with the Rev. Jeff Owens officiating. Burial will be in Wise-Robinson Cemetery near Ozark. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Stonefort General Baptist Church or Wise-Robinson Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Carrier Mills to Harley and Genevieve (Milburn) Pyle. He married the former Dolores June Appel on Oct. 7, 1953, and they were happily together for over 64 years,

Mr. Pyle worked as a coal miner until his retirement. He was employed at Will Scarlet coal mine.

He also was a member of Stonefort General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores June Pyle of Stonefort; two daughters, Deborah Pyle of Harrisburg and Lorna (Steve) Francis of Goreville; son, Lyndall (Peggy) Pyle of Lake of Egypt; brother, Glendal Pyle of Independence, Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Boyle of Sky Valley, Georgia, and Mary Overstreet of Carrier Mills; six grandchildren, Wesley Noe, Monica Reed, Tabitha Pyle, Justin Francis, Rhiannon Pyle and Brandon Pyle; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Ray Pyle; and an infant sister.

Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.
