HARRISBURG -- Dorothy Lane, 81, of Eddyville, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Oct. 27, 2017, in St. Louis.
Dorothy was born April 26, 1936, in Harrisburg to the late Ira and Hazel (Land) Stilley. She married Jerry Lane in 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2012.
Dorothy was a lifelong Christian and Sunday school teacher. She attended First Baptist Church in Eldorado, Eddyville Missionary Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church in Golconda.
She loved to sing. Dorothy sang in church choirs and at many funeral services throughout her life.
Survivors include three sons, Russell (Susan) Lane of Herod, Roger Lane of McLeansboro and Bart (Carol) Lane of Eddyville; three grandsons, Ely (Kassy) Lane of Sacramento, California, Adam (Amy) Lane of Marion and Jacob Lane of Golconda; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Reta (Jim) Tolbert of Eldorado and Becky (John) Patton of Harrisburg; two brothers, David (Karen) Stilley of Harrisburg and Deneen Stilley of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Dorothy and Jerry will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 4 at the funeral home.
