Charles W. 'Chuck' Parks of Carrier Mills

CARRIER MILLS -- Charles W. "Chuck" Parks, 67, died at 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, in DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.

His request was to be cremated and to have no services. He will be buried at a later date in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills.

He was born Nov. 17, 1949, in Harrisburg to Rexal and Velma (Rose) Parks.

Mr. Parks worked many jobs in his lifetime. He was a truck driver, coal miner and a police officer for Carrier Mills Police Department. He also worked for the Saline County Sheriff's Department and was employed for many years at Carrier Mills Water Department.

He was a former member and president of the Moose Lodge in Tuscola.

Survivors include two sisters, Caroline Benson of Carrier Mills and Mary (Mark) Evers of Cape Girardeau; brother, Rexal Parks Jr. of Ozark; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Loren Parks and Franklin Lee Parks; and two sisters, Rexaline McCarley and Judith Ann Hawkins.

Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.
