BROUGHTON -- Barbara J. Mayberry, 87, formerly of Broughton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at her home in Marion.
Barbara was born March 16, 1930, in Eldorado to John and Bessie (Reeder) Unthank.
She married Robert D. Mayberry on Jan. 24, 1950, and he preceded her in death.
In life, Barbara worked as a homemaker and also attended the former Broughton Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Parks of Marion and Connie (Paul) Keenan of Burlington; three sons, Ron (Cindy) Mayberry of Belle Rive, John R. Mayberry of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, and Rickey Mayberry of Hampshire; two brothers, Joe Unthank and Don Unthank, both of Eldorado; four sisters, Annalee Owen of Effingham, Thelma Cook and Edith Rister, both of Eldorado, and Mary Brown of Broughton; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. David Angelly officiating. She will be laid to rest in Digby Hill Cemetery near Dale. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
