BENTON -- Ruth McClerren, 100, passed away at 10:49 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, in Parkview Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in First Christian Church in Benton with Pastor Kurt Sanders and Pastor Raymond Willis officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Saline County. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
She was born Sept. 27, 1917, in Williamson County, the daughter of Walter and Emma (Kincheloe) Willis. She first married Lemuel L. Kimmel, and he passed away in 1963. She later married Earl McClerren, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2001.
Mrs. McClerren was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Joan Claire Dress Factory in Benton.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Benton.
Survivors include her nieces, Susan Prather, Lee Ann Anderson and Patti Swearinger of Peoria and Jane Howard of Terre Haute, Indiana; and nephews, Elmer Matthews of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Raymond Willis of Laurel, Montana, Reginald Willis and Steve Willis of Peoria and Douglas Howard of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; brothers, Dewey, Noah, Clifford and Albert Willis; and sister, Opal Matthews.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the church.
