Christina Vee Kinsman of Du Quoin

Christina Vee Kinsman, 95, of Du Quoin passed away at 9:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Christina had been a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge. Christina had served on the District 300 Board of Education. She enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

She was born Nov. 4, 1921, in Hurst, the daughter of Robert and Ida Mae (Ellis) Lavender.

She married Dr. Ben A. Kinsman Sept. 19, 1941, in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death June 4, 1988.

She is survived by two daughters, Randee Kinsman and Cynthia K. Thorpe and husband John, all of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven sisters, one brother, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating. The eulogy will be given by Mark Kuhnke.

Those attending the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Du Quoin Elks Lodge following the graveside service.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Shriners Children's Hospital, Paralyzed Veterans of America or the donor's choice. They will be accepted at the funeral home.
