Mildred D. Coffel of Du Quoin

Mildred D. Coffel, 93, of Du Quoin passed away at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mildred had been a homemaker and had worked at Blue Bell Packing. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin. Mildred was also a member of the Marshall Browning Hospital Auxiliary.
She was born July 31, 1924, in Du Quoin, the daughter of McKinley and Violet (Gallager) Barnes. She married Claude Coffel Nov. 1, 1942, in Perryville, Mo., and he preceded her in death June 12, 1998.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews and good friend Leroy Myers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Marshall Coffel; one brother; and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin with the Rev. Gaylen Holden officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
Burial will be at Old Du Quoin Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to Celtic Hospice. They will be accepted at the funeral home.
