Rayburn J. "Bud" Coleman, 78, of Percy, passed away at 5:38 a.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
Bud was born in Percy on December 29, 1938, the son of Griff and Pearl Walker Coleman. He married Linda L. Bauersachs on February 13, 1960 in Alton, Illinois.
He was a retired master mechanic from Streamline, Captain and Horse Creek Mine. Bud attended the First Baptist Church in Cutler and was a former member of the Percy Village Board for years.
He loved to help other people and could repair anything.
Bud is survived by his wife Linda L. Coleman of Percy; children, Brian (Jill) Coleman of Campbell Hill, Ron (Michelle) Coleman of Percy, Terri (Larry) Lovel of Percy, and Steve (Ann) Carrington of Murphysboro.
Additional survivors include twelve grandchildren, Bryce (Misty) Coleman, Tyler Coleman, Blair Coleman, Grace Coleman, Ross Coleman, and Aubrey Coleman, Peyton Lovel, Gavin Lovel, Whitney Lovel, Josh Carrington, Molly Carrington, and Joel Carrington; one soon to be great granddaughter; three sisters Retha Jones of Chester, Phyllis Brant of Chester, Kay Todaro of Ballwin, Mo.; and one brother Gene Coleman of Percy.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers Lavern, and Wayne Coleman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2017 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Percy with Rev. Wes Henson officiating.
Burial will follow at Percy Village Cemetery in Percy. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, where friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Memorials may be given to the Baptist Children Home or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
