Laura Ann Cantrell, 76, of Galatia, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Laura was born on July 4, 1940 to the late Arthur and Macie (Chaffin) Richardson. She retired from Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia and Saline Care Center in Harrisburg where she worked in the laundry department. She loved spending time with her family, doing word search puzzles and making the best homemade biscuits.
Laura is survived by four children, Linda Beltz (Gary) Ward, Ronnie Boston, Terry Boston and Jerry Boston; stepdaughter, Belva Walters; 12 grandchildren, Steve Summers, JoAnna Akin, Johna Anderson, Matthew Boston, Christopher Boston, Jessica Hess, Michael Boston, Lindsey Boston, Crystal Fletcher, Merry Humphrey, Justin Goolsby and Catrine Goolsby; five great-grandchildren, Mya Phelps, Dawson Anderson, Harley Davenport, Drayden Boston and Axel Jones; four brothers and sisters, Alva (Sonny) Bartley, Sara Lou Thompson, Palmer Richardson and Amos Richardson.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hyman Cantrell, a stepdaughter, Sue Haney, a stepson Gene Cantrell; four brothers and sisters, Joyce Davis, Mildred Rector, Henry Richardson and Dewey Richardson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Sloan Funeral Home, 110 State St., Galatia, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Helen Whitney will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery, in Eldorado.
