The Benton-West City Ministerial Alliance is continuing its mission to collect school supplies for those in need and requests local residents' help.
The organization has collected supplies for Benton Grade, Intermediate and Middle schools and provided students with paper, pencils, crayons, Kleenex, paper towels and other supplies.
Supplies may be delivered to the Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, 320 S. Main St., Benton, until Aug. 6.
Monetary donations made payable to BWCMA may be mailed to PO Box 934, Benton, IL 62812.
Supplies needed include:
• Box of crayons, no more than 24 per box
• Fiskars blunt tip scissors
• Plain-colored folders with pockets
• Paper towels
• Pencil box or bag
• Box of slide-lock Baggies, quart or gallon size
• Package of looseleaf paper with standard size lines
• Book bag or backpack
• Red, blue or black ink pens
• 8-ounce bottle of Elmer's glue
• No. 2 writing pencils, no fancy pencils
• Washable broadline magic markers
• Box of Kleenex or Puffs, 200 count
• Dry-erase markers
• Watercolor paints
• Ruler containing metric and inches
• Scotch tape
• Three-ring binder, one-inch size
Secretary John Neace said supplies would be delivered to the schools during the week of Aug. 9.
