A special service honoring all veterans — whether deceased, living or still serving our country — is set for 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Abundant Life Church, located at 707 E. Webster St., Benton.
Col. George Hagan will be the guest speaker on behalf of the veterans.
Hagan served in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years. He was a pilot for B-47 and B-52 aircraft and later served as a pilot trainer and instructor with the South Vietnamese Air Force flying AC-47 Dragonship and A-1 fighters. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, an air medal and the Bronze Star, among other military honors.
Known as “The Old Aviator, he was awarded veteran of the month in August for the State of Illinois.
A dinner will be served after the program in honor of all veterans.
