Angelina Millikan got quite a wake-up call from Mother Nature Thursday afternoon, when a tree crashed through her apartment at Franklin County Housing on East Webster Street.
"I was in the kitchen talking to a neighbor who had just moved her van from beside the tree," Millikan said. "I went back in (my apartment) and got a glass of tea before I went into the bedroom.
"I had my dog in my arms, I heard some cracking and all of a sudden ... here it comes."
Millikan said she hasn't had this kind of weather-related trouble before, but had a fire at a previous residence.
"No, nothing like this," she said. "I saw some plaster on the floor right before the tree came down and then it started raining in. It's a mess, but I'm all right and my dog is all right.
"We're just a little shook up right now."
