Dr. Robert Imhoff, President of Mid-Continent University, will confer degrees for approximately 280 students on Saturday, May 15. Commencement ceremonies will be held at 3 p.m. at Graves County High School in Mayfield, Ky.
The Mid-Continent University May 2010 graduates represent a diverse group students, including graduates from the Dr. James W. Cecil Baptist College of the Bible and the Baptist College of Arts and Sciences with academic departments providing a variety of programs.
Twenty-two students will graduate summa cum laude, having earned grade point averages of 3.9 or higher. Twenty-eight students have earned the magna cum laude designation, with 3.7 to 3.89 GPAs, and fifty-eight achieved cum laude status, having 3.5 to 3.69 GPAs.
Ten graduates are members of Sigma Beta Delta, an international honor society in business, management and administration. Candidates who are members of the Sigma Beta Delta Honors Society are recognized by the green and gold cords. Students must rank in the top 10 percent at the time of induction.
Mid-Continent University offers the traditional college experience on the main campus in Mayfield, KY. MCU also offers the accelerated adult ADVANTAGE option for graduate and undergraduate degrees. The unique ADVANTAGE cohort format allows adults students to fit a college education into their busy lives. Face-to-face classes are offered one night a week with one class at a time in 28 cities and towns throughout Kentucky and Southern Illinois as well as online.
Mid-Continent University was founded in 1949 and is a private, non-profit, Southern Baptist affiliated organization headquartered in Mayfield, Kentucky. MCU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges.
