DU QUOIN -- The annual Halloween parade is set for next Thursday, Oct. 24 in downtown Du Quoin. The lineup begins at 5 p.m. at the Banterra Bank parking lot. Judging will begin promptly at 5:30.
Costumes will be judged in the following categories: Most Original, Best Movie/TV Character, Best Group of 2 or More, Best Halloween Character, Babies Under 12 Months
First- and second-place ribbons will be awarded and monetary prizes provided. Judging will be conducted in front of the bank.
There will also be ribbons and prize money for best floats. The parade route will begin at the bank on Main Street and proceed east to the Post Office and then disband at Keyes Park.
