HARRISBURG -- The Harrisburg Unit 3 Summer Lunch Program continues to grow, offering plenty of delicious meals and a chance to give back to the community.

The program serves lunches in the cafeteria at Harrisburg High School from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and runs through Friday, Aug. 2.

Anyone 18 and under may eat for free. Adults pay $3.

This year, RSVP of Southern Illinois is providing volunteers to assist with the program. Anyone wishing to volunteer may contact (618) 985-8311 ext. 107 or Val Hodges at Unit 3's Central Office at (618) 253-7637.

In addition to the main location, satellite locations are available at the Harrisburg First Presbyterian Church Annex, the Southeastern Illinois College Jr. Falcon Theater program and Thursdays at the Harrisburg District Library.

Also, today at the high school location and Wednesday, June 19 at the First Presbyterian Church Annex, Community Health and Emergency Services, better known as CHESI, will provide dental screenings for school-age children. The exam meets state requirements and a form will be provided to parents or guardians to submit to a school nurse. Any dental recommendations also will be made.
