Members of the Chester Women's Club held their May Luncheon on Friday, May 17 at the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church. A catered meal was served. President Christine Bowles welcomed members and guests. She announced that the club had presented $1,000 educational scholarships to Chester High School graduating seniors Lauren Welge and Shea Petrowske.

First Vice President Nikki Aubuchon presented a video of photos from the 2018-2019 club year. Gwendy Garner read a memorial in honor of deceased member Mary Limbaugh, presenting a yellow rose to Limbaugh's daughter, Pat Nanney.

Cathy Sauer announced that the club's 2019 Woman of the Year was Nikki Aubuchon. In her remarks, she stated that Aubuchon has been an active, contributing member of the club for many years, serving as first vice president.

"She has brought our club into a more technological era and is always willing to provide beautiful decorations for special events," Sauer said. "She is a warm, friendly, outgoing and a multitalented person, who never says the word 'no' when she is needed."

Attending as surprise guests were Aubuchon's husband, John, and a special neighbor, Luella Franke. All reside in Uniontown, Missouri.

Linda Sympson served as installing officer and installed the following officers for the coming club year: President Christine Bowles; First Vice President Nikki Aubuchon; Second Vice President Sandra Starr; Treasurer Jane Stallman; Recording Secretary Joyce McGree; and Corresponding Secretary Cathy Sauer.

The Chester Women's Club will resume regular meetings in September 2019.
