MARION -- The Marion High School softball team picked up a pair of victories last Friday, defeating Belleville East, 10-8, and Anna-Jonesboro, 14-0 in a three-team round-robin tournament.

In Game 1 against Belleville East, Morgan Andrews and Keira Hance led the Lady Wildcats with homers. Andrea Roberts picked up the victory in the circle.

Hance's round-tripper was a three-run shot to tie the Lancers at 8-8 in the top of the fifth inning. Marion then won the game in the seventh on RBI singles by Hannah Nalley and Andrews.

In Game 2, Roberts hurled three shutout innings, struck out three, walked one and allowed but one hit. Andrews paced the offense with a three-run homer. Roberts helped her cause with an RBI triple and Hance belted out three hits.

The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
