Local artist and SIUC alumnus John Greene has spent many years working on computer-generated art. You may have seen his "Fleen" stickers around town and on area refrigerators.

His current show, "Serious Science Fiction," is up at the SIU University Museum's South Gallery through May 4. There's an afternoon talk and reception scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 23.

The show features Greene's dense, colorful geometric images and audio-visual projections.

Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

When speaking of his creative process, Greene talks about blending human will and machine aesthetics to come up with "pictures ... drawn with weird geometries, inhuman intelligence and alien substances."

His "Martian Poetry" exhibit appeared at Artspace 304 last year.
