DU QUOIN -- Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin recently held its annual employee appreciation dinner and awards at the Du Quoin American Legion. Employees, board of directors, and their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner followed by employee service awards, a 1980s Murder Mystery Experience and cash prizes.

Richard Haines, president of the board of directors, expressed his appreciation to the employees for the overwhelming generosity they showed to the community over the Christmas season. Dan Eaves, CEO, presented employees with years of service awards and recognized retirements over the past year.

Five-year award recipients were: Danielle Klump, nurse practitioner; Alexis Keith, medical assistant; Glynn Geary, financial assistance coordinator; Kaley Smith, RN-ED; and Nicole Olenkiewicz, finance/accountant.

Recognized for 10 years of service were: Sandra Harris, RN-Med/SURG; Samantha Orrill, RN-ED; Julie Hoskins, COTA-Rehab; Vicki Spiller, director of Marshall Browning Estates; Amy Cashion, environmental services technician; and Kimberly Kellerman, admitting supervisor.

Recognized for 15 years of service were: Leslie Anders -- OR tech; Michele Lacy, CNA -- ED; Heather Kattenbraker, executive assistant; Samantha Albers, dietary manager; and Jamie Callaway, LPN-Med/SURG.

Recognized for 20 years of service was Gail Durkota, Speech/Language Pathologist.

Recognized for 25 years of service were: Marites Jones, MT -- laboratory, and Sandra Gant, RN -- safety/risk manager.

Recognized for 30 years of service was Michelle Dudek, PTA -- rehab.

Honored for 35 years of service was Launa Dinkins, RN -- ED, and Sue Dixon, RN -- infection control/employee health.

Honored for 40 years of service was Linda Whitman, case management/utilization review.

This year's new retirees included Allison Sadler, lab manager (41 years); Jimmie Hill, environmental services (43 years); Deborah Davison, health information management clerk (38 years); Renee Cobin, patient accounts manager (32 years); Marilyn Zak, patient accounts credit/collections (26 years); and Susan Setzekorn, dietary manager (20 years).

The evening was planned by an employee committee consisting of Sarah Dickey, Nicole Olenkiewicz, Kim Kellerman, Brice Harsy, Samantha Albers, Barbara Werner, Heather Richelman, Tara Geary and Glynn Geary.
