HERRIN -- An autopsy following the death of a 50-year-old Herrin man last week has revealed that Jeffrey D. Ennis died as the result of a homicide.
In a statement released late last week by the Herrin Police Department, an investigation into the death remains active with no arrests yet made in the case. Assisting Herrin are the Williamson County Major Case Squad, Williamson County Coroner's Office, Williamson County State's Attorney's Office, and Illinois State Police. No additional case information was provided.

Ennis's body was discovered at 5:18 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 at his residence on the 700 block of North 17th Street
