Southern Illinois Stitchers (SIS) is a group of local embroidery and bead artists that is a newly chartered chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America (EGA).

The group meets on the fourth Sunday of the month at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 402 Mill St. in Carbondale, to stitch, learn new techniques and enjoy the camaraderie of other needle artists.

Current members come from Ina to Metropolis and places in between. Everyone who is a needle artist or interested in learning embroidery is welcome to come.

To learn more about SIS, visit the chapter's Facebook page, Southern Illinois Stitchers, or call Kristine McGuire at 618-559-6296.
