DU QUOIN -- The Du Quoin City Council Monday night unanimously approved two appointments.
Brittany Waller was named utility clerk effective this week at a pay rate of $13 an hour. A rate adjustment will be made after a 90-day probationary period.
At the request of Mayor Guy Alongi, Samantha Daniels has been added to the Tourism Commission. "Samantha works for Regions Bank and we're always looking for extra help," the mayor said.
