Phyllis Ann Mace, age 66, of Shawneetown, passed on this life, Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at her home. Phyllis was born in Morganfield, Kentucky on May 28, 1952 to the late Don and Billie (Thomas) Kimbro. She was married to the love of her life, Dan Mace, on Nov. 29, 1971.

Phyllis was a military wife for 21 years, and worked on C-5 aircraft at Dover Air Force Base. Upon moving back to Illinois when Dan retired, she was a Resource Conservationist for more than 20 years in the Soil and Water Conservation Office in Ridgway before retiring.

She loved arts and crafts and always had a smile and a kind word for you. She was a member of the Ridgway Methodist Church and Ridgway Women's Club.

She will be missed by many.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Dan Mace; two daughters, Courtney Mace and Danielle (Mike Gribble) Mace; and two grandchildren, Taylor Boone and Mace Gribble. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Parrish, and a sister, Linda (Dan) Butler.

She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Mace.

Visitation for Phyllis will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Thad Galloway officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.

Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to any animal shelter and envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
