Hangar 6 at Southern Illinois Airport in Murphysboro is the site for a planned visit Saturday from President Donald Trump.

Trump will come to southern Illinois Saturday afternoon to rally voters for Republican congressman Mike Bost.

The rally, confirmed last Sunday by Bost's campaign, is expected to begin at 4:30 p.m. The doors are expected to open at 1:30 p.m.

Attendees must have a ticket. Tickets can be obtained at donaldjtrump.com.

State Rep. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) said both she and Bost are scheduled to speak at the rally. She is unaware of any other local speakers who also might be on the platform with the President.

Alex Browning, with Gov. Bruce Rauner's press office, said the governor also may appear at the rally, but "we're still working on final details. We don't know for certain." Browning said Rauner has previous commitments for Saturday.

No other details about the rally have been released. This newspaper has been attempting to find answers regarding parking, potential road closures or detours, and other preparations, but so far has not been successful.

Local officials, too, have spent the week largely in the dark. Even Murphysboro Mayor Will Stephens said information about the rally has been difficult to obtain.

"I am going to tell you that the response I got this morning from everyone -- my chief, the sheriff and the airport -- is that everything is still unknown," Stephens said Thursday morning.

As details become available, we will update this story online.

Polls indicate that Bost, of Murphysboro, is locked in a dead heat with Democrat Brendan Kelly, of Swansea, for the Illinois 12th District Congressional seat.
