DU QUOIN -- There will be an open house from 10 a.m. to noon this Friday, Oct 19 at the newly renovated Marshall Browning Family Home Health Center, formerly known as the Furry building located at 20 N. Washington St.

There will be tours provided and refreshments available to the general public.

Pam Logan, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Marshall Browning, said there will also be a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. marking the occasion.

Heather Rice, a physician assistant, has taken over the reins as the lead medical practitioner of the former family practice run for the last 30-plus years by Dr. Craig Furry.

Hospital CEO Dan Eaves said Rice moves to the family practice center from the hospital's medical clinic. He explained that Rice has been caring for residents of Perry County in a family setting for over 10 years.
