JOHNSTON CITY -- Johnston City is gearing up for a Homecoming match up with Carmi-White County on Friday with a week of spirit events following the theme, "Out of This World."

High school dress-up days kicked off on Monday with "pajama day." Today is "Galaxy Day." Wednesday is "Gemini Day." Thursday is "Class Color Day" followed by Friday's "Sun and Moon Day," the traditional school colors day.

The classes have been working on floats for the parade, scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m., beginning at the high school and traveling south down Jefferson Avenue.

The coronation is set for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the gym. Admission is free for students and $5 for the general public.

Thursday will see the class wars competition and student skits during the school day.

A pep rally is set for Friday after lunch at the school. That night, the Indians will take on the Carmi-White County Bulldogs with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

The week's festivities will culminate with the Homecoming dance on Saturday at 8 p.m.
