HARRISBURG -- A new program to help feed local people had a successful first night, and will continue each Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Harrisburg First Presbyterian Church Annex.

"Heaven's Kitchen" is the name of the program designed by Dale Fowler of the Fowler Bonan Foundation.

After the inaugural program on Tuesday, Sept. 11, Fowler said 65 meals had been served that evening.

An online request on social media asking for volunteers resulted in groups and individuals quickly offering to help. Volunteer shifts are covered to December so far.

Those wishing to volunteer may contact Heaven's Kitchen -- Harrisburg via Facebook.
