HARRISBURG -- Unseasonably cool weather and the perennial grandstand favorite demolition derby brought plenty of people to the Saline County Fair for its final night Saturday.

At the grandstand, prior to the demo derby, a group of youngsters got the chance to crash ride-on electric cars in the "Power Wheels" match prior to the real thing.

During the heats for the various derby events, those in the packed grandstand roared with approval at big hits and near misses.

Over on the midway, the Ferris wheel and the Scrambler proved popular as riders would race back into line immediately after they finished the previous ride.
