The following incidents were obtained from Franklin County Sheriff Don Jones. Note that arrests, charges and citations are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

May 25
• Deputies responded at 4:15 p.m. to a single-vehicle traffic crash on Bear Point Lane at the intersection with Peach Orchard Road. The investigation concluded that a 2014 Polaris ATV operated by Garret C. Nikolich, 21, of Mulkeytown was southbound on Bear Point Lane during a heavy rainstorm. The ATV traveled through the intersection, into a ditch and struck an embankment head-on. The driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Abbott EMS. Sesser first responders also assisted at the scene. The driver was ticketed for illegal operation of an ATV on the roadway.
• Deputies arrested Nathan R. Smith, 19, of Johnston City on a warrant for failure to appear for burglary.

May 26
• Deputies responded at 1:32 a.m. to a single-vehicle traffic crash on Rt. 37 two miles north of Benton. The investigation concluded that a 2012 Nissan Versa driven by Justin C. Owens, 47, of Nashville, Tenn., was northbound when the driver stated he swerved to avoid a deer, lost control, struck a mailbox, entered a ditch and overturned. There were no injuries, and the driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was charged with resisting arrest.
• Deputies arrested Tiffany L. Holman, 36, of Sesser on a warrant for failure to appear for bad checks.

May 27
• A traffic stop at 1:32 a.m. on Rt. 154 resulted in the arrest of Camron W. Marlo, 41, of Enfield on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

May 28
• Deputies responded at 11:19 a.m. to a two-vehicle traffic crash on Rt. 34 at Baseline Road. The investigation concluded that a 2018 Jeep driven by Kevin L. Perkins, 40, of Thompsonville, was eastbound on Rt. 34 when a 2015 Chrysler driven by Beth A. Willis, 41, of West Frankfort pulled onto Rt. 34 from Baseline Road into the Jeep's path. Both drivers sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment. A passenger in the Jeep, Debra L. Perkins, 46, of Thompsonville, sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Abbott EMS. Willis was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way.
• Deputies responded at 5:48 p.m. to a domestic dispute in Freeman Spur. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Zackary L. Heckwine, 23, of Freeman Spur on a charge of domestic battery.

May 29
• Deputies responded at 2:23 a.m. to a domestic dispute in Buckner. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Christopher H. Shurtz, 48, of Buckner on a charge of domestic battery.
• Deputies arrested Logan M. Hartley, 20, of West Frankfort on a warrant for violation of probation.

May 30
• Deputies arrested Jamie L. Roberts, 28, of Mt. Vernon on a warrant for failure to appear for bringing a controlled substance into a penal institution.

May 31
• Deputies arrested Michael D. Needham, 22, of Cambria on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges.

June 1
• Deputies arrested Elisha J. Doolin, 40, of West Frankfort on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges.

June 2
• Deputies were notified at 4 a.m. of a serious injury that had occurred to a domestic violence victim in the Ewing area. The victim was being treated for serious injuries at a local hospital. The investigation led to the arrest of Meredith John Osborne, 32, of Ewing on a charge of aggravated domestic battery.
• Deputies responded at 11:41 p.m. to a reported fight in progress at Rend Lake Liquors in Buckner. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Douglas M. Raymer, 36, of Ashley on a charge of obstructing a peace officer.
• Deputies arrested Daryn E. Morris, 50, of West Frankfort on a warrant for failure to appear for domestic battery.

June 3
• Deputies arrested Christopher T. Fox, 34, of Marion at 10 p.m. on an arrest warrant out of Williamson County for failure to appear on traffic charges. Deputies also charged Fox with possession of drug paraphernalia in Franklin County.
• A traffic stop at 8 p.m. in Benton led to the arrest of Craig S. Beasley, 49, of Herrin on a charge of driving while license suspended.
• Deputies responded at 8:17 p.m. to a domestic dispute in rural West Frankfort. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Collin D. Batts, 23, of West Frankfort on a charge of felony domestic battery.
• Deputies arrested Mary J. Digby, 44, of West Frankfort on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges.

June 4
• Deputies arrested Brooklen M. Bowlin, 25, of Logan on a warrant for failure to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia.

June 5
• Deputies arrested Kenneth L. Mitchell, 37, of Golconda on a warrant for failure to appear for DUI.
• Deputies arrested Terry W. DeJear, 41, of Du Quoin on a warrant for failure to appear for domestic battery.

June 6
• Deputies arrested Clifford T. McGuire, 36, of Benton on a warrant for failure to appear for bad checks.
