Girl Scouts honor World War II veterans

  • Girl Scout Paris Baskerville shakes hands with Korea veteran Orlen Sims of Carbondale before escorting him through the hundreds of people gathered at Veterans Airport in Marion Tuesday night to welcome him and other veterans home from this week's Honor Flight. Local Girl Scouts were among the people on hand to welcome veterans to Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois recently, as the southern Illinois vets were returning from the most recent Honor Flight to Washington D.C. to see the World War II memorial and other sights.
