3:06 p.m. A non-injury accident occurred on US 51 just north of Illinois 14. Brett VanZandt, 23, of Du Quoin, driving a 2005 Ford Explorer, was traveling northbound on US 51 after turning off of Illinois 14. He was following a 2009 GMC Yukon driven by Michelle Schubert, 57, of Tamaroa. Van Zandt's vehicle rearended the Schubert vehicle. VanZandt was cited for failure to reduce speed. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

12:23 a.m. Stephanie Taylor, 49, of Du Quoin was incarcerated at Perry County Jail on the charge of aggravated domestic battery.
