Mother Nature gave southern Illinois a bit of a break Saturday morning, and around 150 Benton youngsters and their parents took advantage of the few hours of sunshine to enjoy the annual Easter egg hunt at the Benton Public Library.

The hunt, an annual event, is put on for children up to age 12. Library staff prepared several hundred eggs with goodies. The library also displayed several Easter-themed books available for the young readers.
