More details have emerged following initial reports of an armed abduction that ended near Johnston City last Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 5 p.m., multiple law enforcement units from Illinois State Police, Johnston City Police Department, and the Williamson County Sheriff's Department rolled through Johnston City, lights on and sirens blaring, heading north on Monroe Avenue.

According to a media release from the WCSD late Thursday, the incident originated in West Frankfort. The victim told police he was walking when he accepted a ride from a female acquaintance and three unknown males in a silver, extended cab truck.

The alleged suspects drove then drove the victim to a remote location on Eberhardt Road just north of Johnston City, were two of the males pointed handguns at the victim and the third male displayed a knife.

The trio demanded all of the victim's property. Williamson County Sheriff Bennie Vick said that property was valued between $400 and $600.

The victim was then forced from the truck and it left the area.
