Two hurt in separate one-vehicle crashes

Two Randolph County residents were injured in separate one-car accidents on Feb. 11, according to reports from the Randolph County Sheriff's Department.

Joshua Brown, 38, of Prairie Du Rocher was driving west on State Route 155 near W. Mill Street around 12:45 p.m. when his 2002 Chevrolet SUV left the right side of the roadway, according to police. The car traveled approximately 194 feet through the ditch before striking a utility pole at the intersection.

The Chevy came to rest on its wheels facing north, Brown was reported to have been ejected from the vehicle and was found by police lying on West Mill Street. He was taken to Red Bud Regional Hospital for treatment.

No tickets were issued, according to police.

In the second accident, Fred Talleur, 79, of Red Bud Unit was driving east on State Route 154 approximately 1/2 mile west of Griggs Road around 10:25 p.m. As the roadway curved slightly to the left, Talleur's 2004 Chevrolet Silverado ran off the right side of the road, according to the police report.

The truck came back onto the roadway and into the westbound lane. Talleur over corrected and ran off the right side of the roadway while sideways, striking a ditch before coming to rest in a creek with the front end in the creekbed and the back end on the bank on the east side of the creek, police said.

He was taken to Red Bud Regional Hospital for treatment. No tickets were issued, police said.
