The following incidents were obtained from Perry County Sheriff Steve Bareis. Note that arrests, charges and citations are allegations only, not findings of guilt.

Nov. 30

• Deputies arrested Ashley N. Farrell, 25, of Du Quoin at 1:59 p.m. on a charge of violation of probation. picked up at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and taken to the Perry County Jail onn$20,000 bond.

• Deputies responded at 6:04 p.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 154 just west of Lost Prairie Road in Pinckneyville. The investigation determined that a Ford Escape driven by Joseph M. Dotson, 33, of Sparta was traveling westbound on Rt. 154 when it struck a deer, causing major damage to the vehicle's front end. Dotson was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Deputies arrested Cassaundra F. Roberts, 36, of Zeigler at 11:14 p.m. in Tamaroa on a warrant for violation of conditional discharge on an original charge of retail theft. Roberts was taken to the Perry County Jail on $20,000 bond.

Dec. 2

• Deputies responded at 1:32 a.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 127 near Primrose Road. The investigation determined that a vehicle driven by Jesse D. Strait, 20, of Pinckneyville was traveling northbound on Rt. 127 when a deer struck the vehicle, causing the vehicle to steer off the roadway, strike a road sign and go into a ditch. Strait was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Deputies responded at 10:09 p.m. to a traffic crash on Rt. 127 near Bethel Church Road. The investigation determined that a Ford Escape driven by Kaylee A. Heggemann, 19, of Marthasville, Mo., was traveling southbound on Rt. 127 when it struck a deer. Heggemann was not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Dec. 3

Deputies cited Ronald W. Betts, 60, of Florissant, Missouri, for speeding following a traffic stop at 5:25 a.m. on Rt. 127 at Carnation Road.
